Customer Profile
The customer is a leader in high-precision optical metrology solutions, serving the semiconductor, aerospace, and life sciences industries. They required a durable sink station tailored for sensitive equipment cleaning and safe manual processing.
Challenge
The sink had to support the cleaning of fragile high-value parts, offer corrosion resistance, integrate
accessory mounting options, and match specific dimensional requirements. No off-the-shelf solution met these performance and customization needs.
accessory mounting options, and match specific dimensional requirements. No off-the-shelf solution met these performance and customization needs.
Solution
Burt Process supplied a welded ½” natural polypropylene sink measuring 65″ x 65″ x 36″ with an 18″ deep basin and 24″ splash shield. A 3″ apron on three sides allowed for fixture installation, while FRP grating prevented direct part contact with the sink bottom. A steel stand provided elevation and structural support.
Key Features
- Welded ½” thick natural polypropylene sink
- 18″ deep basin for large part containment
- 24″ tall splash shield for operator protection
- 3″ front and side aprons for accessory mounting
- FRP grating to prevent damage to sink or parts
- 12″ faucet hole (faucet supplied by customer)
- 2″ NPT polypropylene drain coupling
- Epoxy-coated carbon steel structural stand
- Delivered as one complete fabricated unit
Outcome
The delivered sink assembly enabled a more organized, operator-safe wash station while preserving the integrity of optical components. Its robust design ensures long-term performance in a demanding industrial environment.
