Quadplex Chemical Dosing Skid System

Quadplex Chemical Dosing Skid System

Overview

Burt Process Equipment delivered a custom-engineered quadplex ChemPLUS chemical dosing system to support critical chemical feed operations at a water treatment facility. The solution included three separate chemical feed skids—each designed for a specific reagent—and provided modular scalability, precise flow control, and a compact footprint. The skids were preassembled for minimal site labor and seamless integration with facility control systems.

Modular Dosing Skids

Challenges

The customer required a dosing solution capable of simultaneously managing three separate chemicals—sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, and polymer—while ensuring:

  • Precision metering and pressure control for multiple fluids
  • Material compatibility with corrosive reagents
  • Panel separation for safe wiring and plant integration
  • Scalability, with potential expansion from duplex to quadplex system configuration
  • Compact modular layout to accommodate site footprint constraints

Delivered Solution

Burt Process supplied the following custom chemical feed skids:
  • Quadplex Sulfuric Acid Dosing Skid
    • Welded ½” HDPE skid with PVDF piping and y-strainers
    • (4) Peristaltic pumps (35.2 GPH max @ 125 PSI)
    • PVDF-protected stainless steel gauges (2.5”, 160 PSI)
    • Glass & PVDF calibration column
    • Adjustable pressure relief valves
    • Junction box for PLC wiring
  • Quadplex Sodium Hydroxide Dosing Skid
    • ½” HDPE base with 316SS piping and y-strainers
    • (4) Peristaltic pumps (same performance spec)
    • Clear PVC calibration column
    • Pressure relief valves and protected pressure gauges
  • Duplex Polymer Dosing Skid
    • CPVC piping and welded HDPE frame
    • (2) Peristaltic pumps with high turndown
    • Full instrumentation including calibration column and gauge guards

Each skid was shipped with full drawings and wired for direct tie-in to the facility’s control systems. A follow-up adder system was provided to expand dosing capabilities with an additional duplex coagulant system, sharing the same skid framework as the original design.

Outcome

  • Delivered a fully integrated, multi-skid dosing platform capable of handling corrosive reagents with minimal operator intervention
  • Modular layout allowed for seamless system expansion from duplex to quadplex configuration
  • Enabled precise chemical feed control with long-term reliability and corrosion resistance
  • Delivered on time with AutoCAD 3D drawings and milestone-based invoicing
